Do faucets have lead?

Most faucets purchased prior to 1997 were constructed of brass or chrome-plated brass containing up to 8 percent lead (the main metals in brass are copper and zinc). Water sitting overnight (or for several hours) in a brass faucet tends to leach lead from the brass faucet interior which may produce relatively high lead levels in the first draw of drinking water. These are the only recommended lip balms from the Environmental Working Group- (ewg.org) a TRULY responsable not for profit organization. I would consider anything else to be either potentially dangerous, ineffective or both! Brands like Blistex, CVS, Neutrogena, Carmex, Cover Girl, Chapstick, etc stink and you should rid yourself of these brands and find the below mentioned instead. Pedicure Safety

Pedicures can be dangerous- spreading infections. Here's some safety tips that you should NOT forget:
  • Schedule one of the first appointments in the morning when tubs are cleanest. Or make sure your technician disinfects the tub before your pedicure.
  • Bring your own pedicure tools. Use separate tools for pedicures and manicures to prevent contamination between toes and fingers.
  • Skip shaving your legs before the appointment to help prevent bacteria from entering the skin.

Here is a list of "Safer" and Much More Dangerous Fruits and Vegetables. Basically, you are ALWAYS better off with organics. In fact, data suggests that organic fruits and vegetables  when consumed regularly and for brief periods of time can impact your body quickly. I am looking for a list of coops around Phoenix Metro where you cn buy organic and at a reasonable price- an issue, obviously, in this ailing economy.
